SHANTALA devi was the queen of king vishnuvardhana of Hoyasala empire in 12 century. the king was well accomplished, brave and much information is available on him but no books were written about the queen. she was a famous classical dancer, very beautiful and religious too. Vishnu vardhan was originally a jail but later he changed to vaishnava faith but queen remained a jain.
The queen was bestowed with many awards for het contribution to dance, religion, for her contributions in battles, and promotion of art and sculpture.
The temple of halebid of chennakesava has 47 extremely well carved dance images of shantaladevi as mandakinis. Great art it is.
the queen was unhappy because she had no children and frustrated she committed suicide by jumping from the hill of Shiv ganga. A precipe is known
after her. the king also built a temple on the hill in her memory.
Shiv ganga hill is a fort and pilgrims visit the place. it is close to Bangalore.

The present chaotic situation in the city of Hyderabad after every rain is the outcome of highly corrupt administration of various govts that ruled the state. No doubt the present govt has failed to deliver Bangaru Telangana that was promised and came to power. They have no clue of city planning, flood control and regulation and drainage systems , prevention of illegal constructions.The city is old but new colonies were developed irresponsibly and permissions were given without any fore thought surely after consideration.Crores of rupees of money surely changed hands .The corrupt officials of municipal administration and ministry turned Nelsonsceye for illegal constructions when lakes were illegally occupied and sold as plots to greedy customers.. there was no control on lay outs .large illegal complexes were built obstructing flow of water and drainage into musi river. nallahs were blocked and govt looked other way for votes. As example take a look at Kachiguda stone arch bridge near Nallakunta. Only two arches are available for traffic flow and scores of illegal constructions have come on the Nallah I.e near fever hospital road. On Musi beaks all most all areas have been occupied with illegal constructions all over. At many placed Musi banks have been illegally filled up by land sharks and now car garages. Have been established apart from lorry parking places. Wehave chosen democracy meaning free for all and no discipline. All stray people, criminals and gangsters get elected to assemblies in elections and most of them are land grabbers too. Obviously they influence when some sane official wants to prevent illegal construction.The present crisis is due to the above.Metro added to miseries of people. Surely people have to live with this chaotic administration and. No solution can be found as illegal constructions Can not be demolished due even after identification due to court litigations and interference By political thugs everywhere. better pray to God when it rains. Municial Administration under KTR has utterly failed in this regard

Farmers are committing suicides and also in the past too. They are also struggling against policies of govts, middle men Dallas, shady , market executives, village officers, sarpanches, patwaris. Soldiers on the other side are neglected. They are degraded by committing them on work degrading. To their status.Their requirements are not met . in orop cases they were let down. Govt files cases against orop after promising to implement. Thus forced veterans to go on agitation. For more than an year. On every front soldiers and officers welfare is impaired. then why shout Jai Jawan .It looks funny. Beaurocrats worked against interests of Army officers and they resent army show off in uniform, traditions star plates flags , officer messes, social life, parties, ladies mites. should army officers wear lungi dhotis , turbans with paijama, loose bush shirt every where.. funny nation . Veterans at jantar jantar were even lathicharged in Delhi bringing shame to Govt for eternity. we are degrading our own forces. Jai Jawan and Jai Kisan slogan has no meaning in India.It is like rubbing chilli powder on bleeding wound.

KHILA SHAPURAM IS CLOSE TO RAGUNATH PALLI NEAR JANGAON TOWNIn present Telangana.the fort was built by Sardar sarvai papadu also called papanna, papa Rayudu or papadu who was a Telangana robinhood type ruler 350 years ago .He rose from Toddy tapping goud community who fought Muslim Deccan armies of Aurangzeb the tyrant , the Mughal EMPERROR. KUTUB shahi kingdom collapsed in 1687 and the kingdom was annexed to Mughal empire with a subedar to administer. It was the time when Sardar papadu was emerging on the scene. Some say he was born in Belgaum. but it is believed well that he was the native of Telangana from sarvai peta in Karim nagar area. he lived between 1650..1709.he defeated kolanupaka subedar who tried to subdue him and was killed by papadu..Later , he defeated the Muslim armies several times. He controlled a large force and captured important forts like Bhongir, Warangal and even Golconda. Bahadur shah I the ruler at Delhi recognised papanna as a local ruler, but the EMPERROR at Delhi was ill advised by local chieftains and zamindars that papanna was from lo community and hence has no right to rule. thus papanna was not recognised and forces were set up on him to arrest him. Paoadu built forts at tatikonda. Near Warangal, VemulaKonda near valikonda, sarvai peta, SHAPURAM, Cherial and few more places. SHAPURAM fort was a stone fort and was the capital. it was fitted with many cannons and facilities. The fort was surrounded by Muslim army and papanna was trapped in side. he fought very bravely.A very close aid of papanna was killed in battle. Papanna escaped from the fort and he was pursued from place to place.It was an unequal fight. There were many battles between Diler Khan another Mughal commander. Papadu was at tatikonda battling a section of Muslim armies when Shapur was surrounded by Diler Khan and his troops . the fort was occupied. at this time papadu not knowing about the happenings at Shapur arrived with his troops and was surprised at the situation. his own guns of Shapur were firing at him. he escaped from the bad situation and was pushed by Muslim armies.papadu moved from place to. Place exhausted.
Sarvai papadu was finally betrayed by his own brother in law to Mughals and he was killed by beheading. it is said his head was suspended to Golconda fort gate.
history books ignore papanna and his exploits and merely seen as highway bandit and abductor of women. however Barbara Thames metcoff. And Richard Elton. Recorded papanna exploits in detail in their works that are available along with his sketch. they described him more or less as a Robinhood of the province he reigned. the Muslim writer of the times khafi Khan as usual has portrayed him lawless man and bandit and an outlaw.
THe fort is now under state aracheological. Dept. It was neglected and very poorly maintained.. the result is the collapse of one wall connected to a bastion due to the present down pour. Very sad administration by the state. The wall must be built to original state in the same shape. some important personalities like perwaram ramulu , ex DGP, PONNALA LAXMIAH ex minister apart from a brother of perwaram Romulu , former vice chancellor of Telugu university who are from KHILA Shapur .In fact this fort was badly neglected by all Ap governments till date apart from present govt.In history books papanna has been portrayed as a mere robber and bandit Which was not true. the ruling community of Zamindars. Called Dora's of Telangana region are no doubt up in arms against papanna as he looted them of their wealth, cattle and riches .but papanna With the money took care of poor. Still lot of research is required to be done on papanna. and things are not moving in that direction. except goud community in Telangana, others are not much interested in the memory of papadu and there is no concentrated effort by all in the required direction,. Long live memories of Sarvai papadu.ü

His highness dalai lama took refuge in India after china occupied Tibet NEARLY SEVEN DECADES AGO. . many tibetan refugees also came to India and took refuge. Ever since then Tibetan govt in exile exists in India at Dharmasala. he was also awarded Nobel Peace Prize. He wants to regainTibet by peaceful means that is next to impossible. china is, well entrenched in Tibet during the last 70 years.
Netaji subhas said long ago that freedom is not given as charity. it has to be taken by force. mao tse tung also preached that power flows through barrel of gun. former PM Sir Atlee of England confirmed after 1947 that the main reason for leaving India was the INA factor IN wwii. the revolts in Indian army units and naval units caused great stir in England and there was no gurantee that they could bank on BRITISHIndian army. thus netaji made very great impact and forced them to leave and it was not Gandhi factor. Tibet can not obtain freedom by mere negotiations and world opinion. it has to be fought through. as long as present Dalai lama is alive things will not move in that direction. thus it will be a long drawn process.. Poland after ww ii was occupied by soviets and large number of poles took to armed struggle against soviets and the fight continued into sixties. these members of armed resistance were called cursed soldiers. the last fighter was killed in 1962. Poland regained free dom in nineties when USSR Collapsed during Gorbochevs times. Similar situation might develop in China. Success of struggle against china is not that easy as chinacat present is too strong. can India openly support Tibetan armed freedom movement,? seeds have been sown In the initial days .USA tried it. But failed. The path to success is very very long. But begining has to be made with definitely plans.More SFF tibetan units must be raised to unleash armed struggle.

Very good very nice slogan. def services veterans have been agitatingfor full OROP and struggling. they were even lathi charged by Delhi Police some to me ago although they were peaceful. farmers in India gave been committing suicide .. farmers, are fleeced by rytubazar staff, market yard officials, sarpanches, village officials, govt officials, business men, middle men, commission agents So the slogan is well justified

I heard a captain of a battle ship goes down with the ship when it is sinking.what do you say. is it true?.. prof. yes the tradition is there in navy. but not in army. but during Chinese war in 1962 many officers fought and died with troops to the last bullet and last moment. Many senior officers escaped from enemy also by withdrawing and running away.. sad situation
