RAI CHAND BORAL was a music director in Saigals era and was great grand old man of music and was a bheeshma pita maha. He was with New theatres at Calcutta. He was awarded cine fields highest award dada saheb phalke award in 1978 and also sangeet natak academy of India, He was instrumental in identifying and grooming saiagal sahib to stardom in cine field. LAGAN , crore pati, chandidas, puran bhagat, karwan e hayat, dhoop chaun, president, street singer were some of the greatest musical hits for which he was the music director. composed music for scores of hindi and bengali movies and set standards. that were followed for another 20 to 30 years.
