RAM GANGULY. He was great music director in forties and fifties and he also com,posed music for KL Saigal sahib during Saigal era. Bhata surdas and puran bhagat were great hits. He was with Ranjit movietones and composed music for many. He composed music for hit musical Gawaiah with Surendraji as hero with sulochana.He was a, successful music director with many hig sings to his credit and for quality music.. in1954 He was MD for musical hit film gawaiah in which Surendra was the hero. There are three hit songs by surendraji in the film. Hamaarjaamkho se dilke, nazar se jab ye nazarmili hai, teri yaad deepak jalta hai.. There is a song again teri yaad ka deepak with slight changes in lyrics as a play back by talat mahmood in faster pace that was also a hit.
the movie was a, sucess. However after this movie surendraji didnot sing in films and took up only character short roles till he passed, away in1987. as rare event he sang a comic song innpati patni as play back for om Prakash.
