INDIAN SHRIKE BIRD


INDIAN SHRIKE BIRD, water colors, 20 x 24 cm paper . shrike means  a butcher. The bird got the name due to the way it kills its victim vertebrates too that are pierced at neck by the bird and is  shaken violently and thrown against sharp  thorns. 
The victim is then eaten, The beak of the bird has a hook shape at front like predator birds .The birds are distributed across globe at most of the places and there are many types  with short and long tails
