SANGOLI RAYANNA, OF KITTUR WHO CONTINUED THE FIGHT AGAINST EAST INDIA COMPANY AFTER FALL OF KITTUE In 1824

SANGOLI RAYANNA.. CHIEFTAIN OF KITTUR RANI CHINNAMMA, He was the back bone of the queen Chinnamma  who was imprisoned after KITTUR war in 1824 with East India Company over the issue of adption of a son. After the fall  of kittur kingdom ,sangoli rayanna waged guerill war against the East India Company forces with the help of faithful followers.He plundered govt treasuries, way laid troops, and carried out surprise  attacks. He could not be captured. He was finally  betrayed to the English men in 1830 and the brave warrior was tried and  hanged on 26 Jan 1831, 4 km away from Nandagad   to a banyan tree. .Kittur rani also passed away in captivity at Bailhongal by this time. the adopted son of the queen  shivalingappa was also arrested by the English men.
