GOBIND RAM VERMA.. REVOLUTIONARY.. he was from Amritsar where his father was a wealthy trader with an establishment tarachand gokuldas. gonind was popular in the city and was, respected. he got in touch with revolutionaries and soon became one of them. gonind, roshanlalMehra, hiralal kapur were cloe team and wanted to spread revolution at activities yo a South Indian city and they chose Madras. roshn lal soon picked up Rs 5000 from his fathers safe and went away to Madras. gonind was not having money and he could not manage as his father became careful and at last he left for Madras without money. At Madras they met. But roshan kept his money with a friend who was arrested. They decided to rob a bank at ootakmund and successfully carried it out.sadly roshan lal died in a bomb explosion when he was trying to test it and it was a serious set back to gobind. However thecteam had shambunath Azad, hiralal kapur and Indra singh muni. after the death of roshroshan the madras city Police came to conclusion that some revolutionaries from outside had entered the city and they became more watchful. one day the police raided the place where the revolutionaries were living and knocked at the door. Having got alerted they opened one round fire through the window. two persons went to the roof and engaged the police by firing from guns. the remaining two were busy destroying documents. soon all if them started firing from roof top at police. the police brought more reinforcements and engaged them. when very few rounds of ammunition was left they raised a white cloth to stop firing but the police continued firing. as lastc resort they blew up a single bomb in their possession and in the confusion Gobindram escaped to an adjascent house and hid in kitchen. Soon police arrested others while city Police commissioner and his, deputy fired at Gobind ram and he was hit in the chest. the bleeding victim was brought out and taken to hospital. But he died on may 4 , 1933.He did not disclose any information.
