JAGAT SINGH ALIAS JAY SINGH.. REVOLUTIONARY..He was from Village sursingh now in Amritsar dist. he joined army when tepo he was twenty. Butt left army and went to Shanghai and then moved to Vancouver in canada where found a job in saw mlll.He returned to India in 1914 to take part in uprisings. The Canadian govt informed Indian govt about his revolutionary activities and alleged that he killed harnam singh a loyalist. in India ,he became close to kartar singh sarabha and took part in some dacoities and money looted was transferred to the cause of revolution. . he escaped to kabul to avoid arrest. Soon they returned to India to sieze arms to free imprisoned colleagues. They were arrested at sargodha when they were trying to seduce men of 22 cavalry to revolt. Earlier he worked in 22 cav regt. he was charged in first lahore conspiracy case and was sentenced to death. He was hanged on 16 nov 1915 along with kartar Singh sarabha.
