BASANT KUMAR BISWAS. INDIAN REVOLUTIONARY. he was a committed activist and belonged to family of freedom fighter Digambar biswas. FromNadia dist in West Bengal. ras bihari bose trained him in arms and bombs. on 23dec1912 disguised as a woman he threw a bomb at Lord Charles hardinge the viceroy who was, seated on an elephant along with his wife and was going in a procession ar chadini chowk. the viceroy was injured in flesh but the person behind him and holding his parasol was killed. biswas was, arrested much later on26 feb1914. The case came to be known as Delhi lahore conspiracy. On 5oct 1914 he, was sentenced to life term. However the govt went for appeal at Lahore high court and he was sentenced to death. he was hanged on 11 may 1915 at the age of 20B
