BINA DAS, INDIAN REVOLUTIONARY, FREEDOM STRUGGLE, She was born in Calcutta and studied at Calcutta university and was from the Brahma samajis.At the age of 21 years on 26 Dec 1932.,she attempted to assassinate governor of Sir Stanley Jackson during the convocation of Calcutta university. she fired five shots in tthe hall from a revolver and the governor escaped death. She was arrested and sentenced to 9 years of hard labour. after her early release in 1939 , she joined congress in 1942,took part in quit India movement and was imprisoned from 1942 to 45, And 1946 to 47. she was member of bengals provisional legislative assembly from 1947 to 51. she got married to jatish chandra an activist of jugantar group.. she was awarded Padma Sri for social work in In 1960 and After her husbands death she lived at Rishikesh alone rather unknown. She died iin isolation and in poverty and her dead body was found on roadside and passers by informed police and it took a month to recognise the body. She wrote two autobiographies in Bengali.
